Although the cashier at the store said a skilled handyman could assemble the crib in an hour, I did it in thiry! Although there were a few extra nuts and bolts laying around, the crib seems sturdy enough. I'm sort of kidding. Sharon and I are very excited for little Luke to arrive and sleep in his crib. We also put the changing table in the room. It'll offer Sharon a very convenient place to change the baby's diaper:)
When we went to the warehouse to pick up the crib and changing table, we borrowed a friend's truck and loaded the boxes in the back. The person at the warehouse said, "You'll be fine, I've never had one fall out." I'm always a big fan of exceeding expectations, but not when it relates to furniture in the back of a truck. Of course, we drive ten feet, and hear a loud crash. The crib had flipped over the side of the rail and landed in the parking lot! We hadn't made it 10 feet before we shattered the warehouse worker's perfect record. In the freezing cold, I got in the back of the truck to hold the furniture, and Sharon drove to Target to get some rope. There's only one time in my life that I can recall being more cold. I was camping with Leigh Smith and we slept on a sheet of ice in a cave near Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina. Spud still has no feeling in his upper left paw. Anyways, we got to Target, I bought the rope and bungee cords, and set to tying. As my grandfather in Georgia says, "If you can't tie knots, tie lots." I had some kind of spider web configuration securing the furniture and it made absolutely no sense. When we covered knots when I was in the Boy Scouts, I should've paid closer attention. Thank goodness for the bungee cords.

Excellent selection! I absolutely love it and especially noticed the robe and baby doo-das!! Sharon looks wonderful! I miss you!
I don't miss that cold weather and am trying to figure out how I am going to get brandi and the kids to come back to michigan with me. I might be flying alone on Wednesday. Glad to see you got the bed home safely. I can't wait for Luke and London to be able to play together. See you soon! bob
so, when described how you put that thing together in half an hour with some nuts and bolts left over, and then hasted to add that you were half-way joking, why did i immediately think that you were joking about it taking half an hour?
