This was my first "white" Thanksgiving, and Luke's first Thanksgiving, period:) Luke's snow suit looks huge on him. But it keeps him warm and cozy. He loves being outside.

Although Luke doesn't look too happy in this photo, doesn't my wife look gorgeous.

Peek-a-boo!

Aren't they adorable! This was taken last Tuesday at the Somerset mall after Luke got his balloon injected. I think it's starting to stretch a little....

ok, maybe it's starting to stretch a lot! :) Sharon had more fun than Luke.

Santa was kind enough to let Sharon and Mary rattle off a dozen photos. Luke was a happy boy.

So back to Thanksgiving, Bob and I put our heads together and tried to figure out how to deep fry a turkey. A co-worker explained that we needed to heat it up to 350 and cook it for an hour an a half. He never said anything about buying a contraption to lower the turkey into the boiling oil! So Bob and I used a coat hanger! And it kind of worked.

We were very proud of our accomplishment, until we actually took a bite!:)

When the temperature stabilized around 300, I left the turkey cooking. When I checked on it 45 minutes later, the heat was up to 450. Uh oh!

It was sort of like a magic trick. The turkey weighed about 16 pounds going into the fryer...it came about 5 pounds and hard as a rock! I think I'll better next year, assuming I'm not fired.

Happy Thanksgiving! Love the pics of Luke with Santa--so cute! you guys look like you're having a lot of fun! Talk to you soon.
:)
p.s. when are you going sledding?!
Your wife is gorgeous and I love that picture of you guys in front of the snowy tree - you have a beautiful family! And I don't think you should be fired from preparing the turkey. It was a good laugh and that's better than a bite of turkey any day. I think you did a great job for your first time!
Sharon- you are gorgeous! Luke is growing so fast! He looks like he loves Santa! Murphy pooped while on Santa's lap! Merry christmas!:)
Thank you for sharing these with us! I can't believe that you guys already have snow. Luke is adorable. We missed you in Memphis! Give Luke a hug for us!
Kevin,
I laughed till I cried looking at the turkey!(then I realized you had company expecting something to eat!!) Did the fryer not come with the doo-dad that puts the bird inand out of the oil?? OR was that something that got tossed accidentally? Hmmm Great pics! Luke looks like he doesn't mind the cold so much! We missed you and Sharon and Luke in MEM but know you were with family!
See you soon!!
XOXO

Janet, what can I say? I did my best?:) If the deep fryer came with the doo dad, it must've been tossed. The coat hanger worked fine, though. But the turkey came out awful!
