It's almost time!

We arrived in Eugene on Tuesday. It's a beautiful town and surprisingly small. Sharon and I have been milling around, getting familiar with the area. The track is in fantastic shape! I definitely understand why they call Eugene "Tracktown USA." Every restaurant we've been to has had track memorabilia everywhere. It's cool to see how this town reveres all the track legends. And I've had to chance to get in conversations with multiple people from the area. They're all very friendly and love the sport. The stadium seats about 25,000 people and it's been sold out for months. It should be very exciting.

Sharon and I made it to Prefontaine's Trail, which is a 4 mile running loop. I was able to run with Sharon for about 4 minutes during her "easy day." I ran alone and got light-headed and about passed out, but I think it was because I was starving. The chocolate shake from Mickey D's made me feel better.

Sharon races tomorrow at 9:20 pm (pacific time). It'll be played on NBC the next day. Click here for the TV schedule. For you night owls, you should be able to watch it live online. Click here for details.

I though this was a cool catch phrase for the Trials.

The press wasted no time. They quickly identified the prettiest girl on the track and started snapping some photos. When people see Sharon, they ask, "So what event are you competing in?" When they see me, they ask, "So who are you here to watch?" It only reaffirms what I already know...I'm all washed up:)

Yesterday, we took an hour and walked up a nice, short trail with a gorgeous view of the city. When we had to start going over some rocks, Sharon decided to stop. Good decision! I trounced up to the top and took some good photos. It really was a wonderful view of Oregon. It's a pretty state.
