It ended up being a perfect time to ski. There was a nice, groomed trail for us and the ski rental was cheap ($12 per ski set!) The snow was sticking to the pine trees. It was gorgeous.

Cross country skiing???
Last weekend, I got a case of cabin fever and had to get out of town. Ben suggested that we all check into a cheap hotel in Tawas, Michigan and go cross country skiing. Honestly, I've never been the "cross country" type:) One time as a sophomore in high school, my track coach made me take a 4 mile run. I spent more energy hopping fences to cut it short than it would've taken to run the 4 miles! I hate distance! But my case of cabin fever was so bad, I was willing to give it a shot.

Notice the duct tape on the back of my jacket. Hey, it still keeps me warm.
I was glad that Heather decided to go. I got to blame her for slowing the pace:)
This was a fun hill. Ben and I fell going down it...twice.
And of course Luke made the trip. Sharon and Ben were out running something like 50 miles before breakfast, so Heather and I took a walk around Lake Huron.
Here's Luke with his grandma, Nana. My mother flew into town so she could help out with Luke after the surgery. I took them both to a park near our house for a little stroll. This is a great picture.
After the park, we got to stop and grab lunch. Nana fed Luke his first cracker.

Great post!!! Glad to see that you all are enjoying the snow!!! Luke seems to be doing great as well, I am happy to see that. We miss you guys, hopefully we can plan a trip sometime to see you!
hey I wondered where you guys have been...and now I see you have been out skiing! That looks like so much fun! (unfortunately there is no hope of such antics here in TN). we used to go a lot when I was little--I had my own skis and everything--I was awesome! Now I think I would probably just fall over. :)
Hey Kev--Geri has that exact same hat as you!
Now that looked fun. The hat didn't look thick enough to keep your head warm??!! The first and last time I skied, I was just happy I didn't break anything!! Glad you got out and had some fun! Lukey do looks nice and toasty!
XOXO

Fun!! Why didn't you invite me? Kevin, why the hate towards distance running? It's good for you! :)
Glad you guys enjoyed skiing. Luke looks so cute all bundled up in front of Lake Huron. I bet he'll be swimming laps in it this summer:)
I would love to do something like that! Luke always looks so happy, even when bundled up!
