The Big House!

On Saturday, I went to the Big Ten championship in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As expected, the stadium is enormous! These Michganders love their Wolverines. There were over 111,000 people in the stadium, which was the second largest crowd in the stadium's history. Despite the fact that it was pretty cold and wet, we had a great time. People keep asking me how it compares to Tennessee's Neyland stadium. There were a few noticeable differences:
I saw a lot more costumes and face paint
I saw a T-shirt that said, "Ann Arbor was a whore."
I saw a guy almost beat up the guy behind him on the stairs because he was cut off (I totally understood...he could've gotten to his seat .5 seconds sooner had he not been cut off).
Only about 10 % of the fans were drunk, compared to the 70% benchmark set by UT fans.
The crowd was pretty calm. There's a big noise difference. Ben explained to me that the police in Ann Arbor don't enforce the marijuana laws, which is why Ann Arbor is an attractive place for hippies. Maybe they were all stoned.
I didn't hear a single F-bomb at the Michigan game. Maybe we were sitting in the wrong section.
Chewbacca from Star Wars was at the ball game. I've never seen a Star Wars character at a Tennessee football game.

Chewy smelled like wet dog after sitting out in the rain for 3 hours!
We had a lot of fun at the stadium. I was the only guy in attendance sporting orange tights (under my jeans) and a Tennessee jacket. Why buy another jacket when I can still wear free stuff?

I love that last picture...you guys are some handsome men!:) My boys had such a great time at the game although it took them all evening to thaw out. Too bad Luke couldn't go along to meet his buddy Chewy. He'll be able to hang with the boys someday soon.
