Never blogged about our awesome trip to Disney. I was a little nervous going since we have a newborn, 2 and 4 year old. I can honestly say it was great! I had so much fun and the kids can't stop talking about the trip. Luke wants to have his birthday party there:) We met Nana,Todd and Cynthia Bobo along with cousins William and Stephen. (Five kids under the age of 4!)

Arrington Vineyard is a gorgeous vineyard outside of Franklin. We took my mom and dad there when they came into town.

Even Luke had himself a good time. We had to get some of that hair under control;)

Last belly shot. Ready to meet my baby.

It took 5 tries to get the IV in! I told the nurses that the last two pregnancies it took 3 times and that this time I really wanted an IV specialist. Well, they didn't believe me!

Kev took good care of me. He rubbed my feet and stayed right by my side:)

Since we didn't find out the sex, Kev got to call it out to me. He said, "We've got Samantha Ruth!" That was so much fun. I'm really glad we waited.

There's a neat spot in Nashville called Cheekwood. It's a botanical garden and they had a special train display for the month of June. Luke and Siena enjoyed the trains....

and they really enjoyed seeing their favorite train, THOMAS! ;)

We went to the Lake outside of Nashville with some friends. We got to play on all sorts of water toys. The kids (including Siena!) got to go tubing. I thought about it...but then decided against it because I was 8 months prego;)

This story is hilarious! Since its the grand opening, they had cake in a back room....Kev and I were catching our breaths and took our eyes off Siena for no more than 60 seconds. We looked around for her and soon found her in the back room chowing down on this cake all by herself. She was happy!

Nashville Shores

For Luke's birthday we went to Nashville Shores. Really fun place for kids and adults.

Franklin!

Franklin is a great place to live. They always have something going on for families to do.

This was a festival they had downtown franklin. Lots of bounce things and fun things to do!

Luke loves to climb so he loved climbing this thing! He did very good!

My friend teaches a Kid-fit class. It was neat to watch all the kids workout and learn about eating and working out.

In the summer, Franklin has a concert every Sunday night in the park. Starts at 7:00 so its not too hot! Kev was in Miami this particular night so I took the kids to hear some good music. The place was packed.

Chicago, final day

We had the whole day to knock around. Luke's plan: play all day. It was that simple.

We took an architecture tour on the water in the morning. It was a much slower boat with zero music...and Luke stayed awake;)

We visited the Field Museum next. The Dinosaur was a T-Rex named "Sue." It's the largest and most complete skeleton of a T-Rex in the world. It was pretty amazing to see in person.

The museum had thousands of stuffed animals. It was neat to get close to some of these animals (without the fear of being eaten).

Speaking of being eaten, these lions were the lions that were nicknamed "Maneaters" in Tsavo Africa. The movie "Ghost in the Darkness" was based on these two cats. There's a fascinating history about these animals on Wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsavo_maneaters Apparently, they killed over 100 people. They were enormous in person. It would be hard to imagine how large they would look with their manes and fur.

Luke was telling me he's "super-fast" like the cheetahs.

We had dinner at a club in the Sears tower and Luke orders Chicken Fingers. Go figure.

I really enjoyed this one on one time with Luke. I think it was good for his confidence to do things on his own. At home, he expects mommy to handle everything. With me, I could tell he was trying hard to be independent and accept more responsibilities like carrying his bags, keeping track of the room key, dressing himself, etc. His reward for being so good: we watched an old Van Damme movie together and played a guessing game before each fight to pick the winner. I gently encouraged him to pick Van Damme every time. Luke loved saying "You were wrong, daddy! My guy beat up your guy!"

Chicago, Day 2

Day 2 of our Chicago Trip.

Breakfast of champions. We had to start our day off right.

We hit the Shedd Aquarium in the morning.

Luke was amazed by the Jelly Fish. I hate those creatures.

With Luke's milk allergy, it's hit or miss to find a spot with dairy free items. When I saw the sign for Buca de Pepo, I knew I was in business. Luke made a friend with the manager and got this lovely hat.

We were lucky enough to be in town for a baseball game, Cubs vs. White Sox. Both are Chicago teams, so it was a packed stadium. We had a great time. Luke liked the slow pace.

His new favorite hobby: riding taxis. This was taken during the ride back to the hotel. He loved rolling the window down and taking in the noise.

Day 3 coming tomorrow.

Boys Chicago Trip, Day 1

Luke and I enjoyed a few days with each other in Chicago. I had a lot more fun than anticipated! He's growing up so incredibly fast, saying and observing the funniest things. We had a doctor's visit scheduled in Chicago, so I decided to take a few days and make a special trip with some fun activities.

I gave him a few responsibilities this trip. Carrying his own bags was one of them.

94th floor of the John Hancock building. Great view! He said "those cars look tintsey-tiny!"

Had to be 48 inches to ride this ride at Navy Pier....

but when there's a will, there's a way;) Luke loved it (and I did too;)

We took a high speed boat tour around Lake Michigan. They were literally rocking out to Outkast and Beastie Boys, making all sorts of noise, and Luke.....

fell asleep. Yes, he fell asleep on the SPEED-BOAT tour that blasted rock music.

And he stayed asleep all the way back to the hotel. He took a quick nap in the taxi.

Luke and Siena are so blessed to have a dad like Kevin. Luke adores his daddy and loves to show off for him.

Kevin is just one of the kids:) He loves spending time with these two and they love him!

Siena is a daddy's girl. I watch her stare at him across the room. Its so cute! She loves giving him "LOVE"

Kevin and Luke are two peas in a pod. Its amazing how much alike they are. I'm so glad Luke has such a great role model.

Luke loves to be thrown high in the air....and Kevin gets him up there!

Baby Thompson #3 is going to have so much fun with these guys, especially with daddy!

Luke turned 4 on June 3rd. Siena turns 2 on July 2nd. We threw them a Mickey and Minnie birthday party this past weekend. The night was wonderful. The weather turned out great! We even had a nice breeze so this prego mama didn't die in the heat.

Can't believe my precious kids are getting so big. 5 more weeks and we will add one more to our Thompson clan. Kevin said next year we'll have a huge "Thompson Summer Bash" since all their birthdays are so close:)

Destin, Florida

For Memorial weekend we went to Destin, Florida with my sister-n-law and her family. It was such a great time. The beach was beautiful and the kids had so much fun.

Easter at home

We were a little under the weather this Easter so we had to stay home. We still had fun finding eggs in our yard. And Nana was in town which made it extra special!

Siena is obsessed with bubbles. Easter bunny brought her a bubble machine, so mama doesn't have to blow bubbles all day:)

She did a good job finding the eggs. This was the second round of finding eggs.

Luke was so fast it was hard to keep up with him.

Luke got the most and didn't wast any time digging in. Poor kids only got to open a few eggs since they were sick.

We spent Christmas in our new home. It was great lounging in our PJ's all day:)

Opryland Ice

We took the kids to the Opryland Ice exhibit. The ice sculptures create a winter wonderland and tells a story of Santa coming to town. They also have ICE slides that you can ride.

Bundled up and ready to go in the freezing building. I'm so glad they give you coats to put on because the tempature inside is colder then outside. I think they said it was 9 degrees.

Luke and I along with my good friend Brad Morgan went camping in the Smokies in early October. It was a three mile hike to the campsite. I was really proud of Luke. He rarely complained, made some friends at the campsite, helped with the fire and he slept good despite the cold weather. Enjoy the pictures and the short video.

Luke and I had a date. I took him to see Toy Story on Ice. He really enjoyed seeing Micky, Mini, Goofy and Donald before the show.

He was upset that Pluto was a no-show.....

The army men made a grand entrance...which was my favorite part!

I loved seeing all the kids yell and get excited when all the characters came out on the ice.

Lets just say Luke had a GREAT time.

Chicago Marathon 2010

I'm proud of Sharon! I was a little nervous at the start because she ran her first mile in 5:30, which was 30 seconds faster than her target pace. After about 10 miles, she either got her pace under control or she was really tired because she finally slowed down to about 6:15 per mile. She ran the marathon in 2 hours and 41 minutes averaging 6:08 a mile. I was excited for her when she crossed the finish line for the first time in a marathon race.

Because she ran a good 10 mile race in Michigan, she got to hang with the elite runners before the race. She got some special treatment which included......her own bathroom And after her experience in the Nashville half marathon, the private porta-potty was a big deal! Based on her time, she qualified for the 2012 Olympic trials. After watching her train for this marathon, I nicknamed her the "heat seeking missile" because nothing could shake her from her target. She got up and found a way to run every single day, wind rain or shine, and she did it with a weird schedule involving two kids and my unpredictable work patterns. I was really impressed.

Walking with her marathon coach, Gary Brimmer. It was strange because she was not complaining about her legs, she was complaining about her......spine. I thought that was strange but it might have something to do with the epidural.

We stepped into Ditka's Steakhouse. It's a cool little place and it's great for sports fans. There's a lot of football history there.

We took some time after the race to get out and see Chicago. We took a boat tour and saw some beautiful sights.

The city was beautiful at night.

I'm happy for Sharon to hit her goal and I'm really happy that our son, Luke, was old enough to at least appreciate mommy working each day towards a goal. I think he understands that mommy runs fast because mommy works hard. I'm proud of her. Three time Olympic Trials Qualifier! 2004, 2008, and now 2012! She's had a great career. Now if I could just quit knocking her up.....

Luke caught a fish and brought it home to watch tv. When Luke took a nap, we were able to get rid of the fish, which was in the living room covered by Luke's shorts (to keep him warm, of course;) The fish left a note explaining that he enjoyed the movie and was ready to go back to the water.

We enjoyed taking the boat out to a really cool sandbar and exploring. Luke really enjoyed himself.

Isle of Palm, Charleston vaca with Nana

Nana rented a house on the Isle of Palm, which is right outside of Charleston. We had so much fun with Nana and our Auntie CC, Uncle Todd, and cousins: William and Stephen

We went to Michigan for one of my best friends wedding. A friend I've known since I was three.

Weekend getaway at the Lake

We rented a cabin with a few friends at Centerhill lake, which is about an hour from us. It was beautiful!

The kids had fun diving off the boat. Basically you park the boat in the middle of the water for the day and relax.

Siena loved the water. It was crazy hot so we all pretty much floated around all day:)

We took a nice boat ride at sunset till dark and the kids did so well. Siena was dancing away to the music!

One of our favorite things to do is to go to the track nearby at night. It's a large field with a fence...perfect for getting the kids worn out!

Franklin has a cool train store. We had to check it out!

Siena enjoyed the "thomas section" all to herself.

Luke sat and watched all the trains go by. They even put a Thomas train on.

One of Lukes friend had a birthday party and this rocket was a hit! It went up about 100 ft. They did it over and over. The kids loved it!

I know I always say this, but I love Franklin. Especially during the summer. Every Sunday night they have concert in the park for families. The WannaBeatles were awesome. The kids had a nice picnic and fun dancing.

Spring fun

Luke and Siena are becoming best buds. They are so cute to watch. They were laughing so hard on the swings.

Luke was hiding in the bushes and as people walked by he would make a bear noise...

Miss Siena loves playing on the big kid stuff. She even goes down the slide by herself.

Kev, coaches at a nearby school. So the kids and I always go watch the track meets. Siena is on the infield playing with daddy.

Luke's elephant even came out to cheer the kids on. As Luke says: He was hungry for a fruit snack mama!" Luke loves watching hurdles and pole volt. I think we may have found his sport:)

Luke's first camping trip....

...it was a success. I'm really proud of my son. We went camping outside of Knoxville last month at Frozen Head State Park. Since it was our first trip, I decided a car camping trip would work best where we parked near the campsite, walked in about 50 yards and camped out. I was able to bring more stuff like food, blankets, chairs, firewood, etc to make it an enjoyable first trip.

We took a half mile hike to a waterfall where Luke threw rocks for about an hour. It was after some hard rain, so the water volume was pretty high.

When I saw Luke doing this, I immediately thought...."Just like his mother..." He kicked his feet up, started munching on some candy and watched me do all the work;)

The real test was whether Luke would be able to sleep. The weather was in the low 50s, so it was a little chilly but perfect for sleeping bags.

"I didn't fall in, Daddy, I didn't fall in...." This is what he said as he walked towards me from the creek. Fret not, the water was about 6 inches deep and I saw him "fall in" as he was laying on his stomach reaching for rocks at the bottom. It was pretty funny.
He had a blast at the waterfall. He made our old dog, Spud, work hard fetching rocks and sticks.

Luke walked the whole way during the hike, up and down hills. I think he's ready for an easy backpacking trip. I'm thinking Charlie's Bunyon in the Smokies for the next one.

Steeplechase

One of Kevin's clients had tickets to Steeplechase, which is a horse race here in Brentwood. We had so much fun. I loved walking around and seeing all the different dresses and hats the girls were sporting.

Note to anyone who attends this event: bring flip flops because if you're on the infield, your heel will sink. Lucky me, I had a pair in my car before I left so my new blues shoes were not even worn to this event except in this picture:)

Nashville 1/2 marathon

When Sharon sets a goal, she gets focused like a heat seeking missile. The goal for 2010: get back in shape and run a good marathon in October. Well, she got in pretty good shape...to the tune of setting the record at the Nashville Music City half marathon. Sharon finished the race in a little under 1 hour and 16 minutes. I'm very proud of her. Here's a thing about Sharon that she might never tell you: she loves to compete. When she said felt the itch to dust off the shoes, I supported her 100%. It's part of what makes her remarkable.

This was taken while Sharon was on stage. For a second, I thought she was going to start strumming her trophy.

There was a cool awards banquet the night of the race. John Rich from "Big and Rich" performed at the concert and we got back stage passes. It was certainly not something we anticipated when we woke up that morning;)

I got up Luke bright and early to watch his mama compete. We had aunt Cici there to help watch him while Sharon was working her magic after the race. I'm glad Luke got to see Sharon work hard, compete and experience a victory. He says he wants to run with Mommy....maybe after this third birthday.

I'm in a Mommy group here in Franklin. There are 70 moms and everyday there is something going on. Recently we took a trip to the fire station. Luke loved getting inside and playing around. We also got a tour of where they eat and sleep. It was pretty cool.

Check out the big screen TV and nice stadium seats. They also had a place to workout, kitchen to eat, place to sleep and shower and game room....makes me want to be a fireman;)

Trip to LA!

Kevin and I went to LA for the week. It was a really relaxing trip for me.(no kids, thanks mom) Kevin was out there for work but had time to play too! We ran into alot of famous people since they are everywhere:) We got our picture taken with former Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Lets just say he was enjoying himself on St. Patricks Day:) One day we went sight seeing around Santa Monica, Malibu, Calabasas(where the Kardashian store "DASH" is) and had such a great time. LA is really cool but I'm so glad I live in Franklin. Enjoy the pictures below:)

The love of my life. This was a wonderful day.

This was Kev and I camping out in Jackson, Wyoming. He always takes me on fun trips.

I have the best hubby in the whole world. We have known each other since 1998. He introduced himself to me at the cafeteria and I've had my eye on him ever since.

He's a courageous person and I'm very proud of what's he's accomplished.

The whole town shut down for three days. We had a lot of fun sledding with the kids. But it only snowed a whopping 4 inches...

Who needs a sled when you've got butts and cookie sheets?

We walked around a nearby golf course at night and had the place to ourselves. Sledding in the dark is lots of fun:)

Siena had her 6 month check up. She weighed 15 lbs, 9 oz and 25 inches long. Can you believe she is 6 months?

Christmas at Nana's 2009

Luke and Daddy on Christmas Eve. Luke was so excited. He stayed up until 1:30 am and refused to go to sleep. Everytime I went to check on him he kept saying he heard Santa and the reindeer on the roof. Finally, I told him santa doesn't come until everyone in the house is asleep...Luke says "well, hurry then mama go to sleep!"

Luke made Santa some cookies. He put so much icing on this cookie that it got stuck to the knife...and well, he thought it was funny!

The cookies turned out really good...edible too! Great idea, Nana!

Madaline and Harrison came to visit the day after Christmas. We had so much fun playing with those two. Nana had them put on a talent show for Janet's birthday. They rocked out to Nana's favorites (the Village People and Gloria Estefan). Kevin is saving the video and plans to bust it out right before Harrison's wedding day;) It was really cute!

Girls weekend with Granddaddy

My father-n-law took me and my two sister-n-laws, and niece to NYC for the weekend. We had such a great time. We stayed at the Sherry Netherland right across the street from the plaza and central park, we went to the Rockettes and Jersey Boys. Thanks Granddaddy for such a wonderful trip! I also want to mention that Kev watched the babies while I was away. When I came back, they were...alive and well:)

Polar Express 2009

Luke is obsessed with the Polar Express movie. He was so excited to go on the train in Chattanooga, TN.

All the kids wear their PJ's just like in the movie. They were all dancing around to Christmas songs.

It was Sienas bed time but she didn't seem to mind. She wanted to see Santa.

Siena was by far the youngest kid on the train.

Many characters came aboard the train...they did a great job entertaining the kids.

The family is growing...this year we had 3 new babies for Thanksgiving. We have 17 in the Dickie clan!

Luke loves to play outdoors. When we drive by the park he says "stop at the playground mom" I can never turn this boy down!

Lots of older kids are usually there and Luke hangs right along with them.

He loves the simple things in life. Watching him everyday is such a blessing.

This summer I taught Luke John 3:16 along with 3 other verses. I will have to post him saying them later. Its really cute!

Luke loves trains! He is into Thomas the tank, Curious George, and Winnie the Pooh. He likes anything slow pace.

We are currently growing out Lukes hair so its a little crazy. I don't want to cut those cute curls off.

This summer Luke tried icecream for the first time...well soy chocolate icecream but as you can see he liked it:)

All Siena

Siena Rose had her four month check up and she was 14lbs (61%), 25 inches (78%). Luke at this age was 15lbs( 50%) and 25.5 inches (75%). Oh, how they grow so fast.

My little pumpkin had fun this halloween. She was such a good sport going to all the fall festivities:)

This girl loves to smile. She does it well:)

She is also so patient with Luke.

She is a daddy's girl for sure! Everytime I'm nursing her and Kev walks in the room, she stops nursing and her eyes follow Kev. Its really precious!

We all love her so much. Luke is the best big brother. He is also very very protective of her. So don't be surprised if you see him pushing someone away from her!

Update on spud

Spud broke his leg this fall. He is healing up in Michigan with his girlfriend, Dakota. My mom and sis are taking good care of him. I'm sure he will weigh 10 lbs more when he comes home from all the doggie treats they give him:)

Spud has chewed off his cast a few times. This shade didn't stay on long ...poor spud! Luke prays for spud every night. We can't wait to see him!!!!!
